The people of Small Gully bring passion, experience and history to their winery. Now made by first and second generation Black family winemakers, our grapes are harvested on our own vineyards – where the Zimmermann family has been producing top quality fruit for almost 85 years. Darren and Robert have established superb low yielding Shiraz vineyards, producing super-premium fruit. Small parcels of Grenache, Mourvédre and Cabernet Sauvignon are also carefully selected from other local vineyards for the Small Gully wine range.

Small Gully produces wines of a distinctive bold and intense Barossa style with great expression of fruit character which reflects the region and meticulous vineyard management. We offer four series of wines, ranging from entry to super premium level, namely: The Formula, Mr. Black’s Concoction, Small Gully Individual Vineyards and our flagship wine, Black Magic. Our intriguing labels are often another talking point, the brainchild of Stephen who has a background in pharmaceuticals.

Robert Parker Jnr of Wine Advocate fame has awarded all of The Formula and Mr Black’s Concoction wines with scores of 91 and Black Magic 93 – recently listing Small Gully in the Top 20 value-for-money wineries in Australia
